From Knowledge Production to Wisdom Creation; Transformation in The Postdisciplinary Era
Join Ronald Jones, PhD, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, from The Experience Design Group (
www.designingtime.se)
for a highly speculative seminar on how knowledge production has been
transformed into wisdom creation as we have transitioned from the
Creative Economy (1990's) to the Experience Economy (2000) to the
emerging Transformative Economy.
By economy Jones means "economies of ideas" and so this interactive
seminar will touch on a broad range of topics, and disciplines from
design to healthcare, from information architecture to education, from
neuroscience to innovation. But Jones will also invite the audience to
speculate with him on what it will mean in the near future when our
institutions for creating new knowledge from research universities to
businesses discover that they are their most "productive" when they put
traditional disciplines behind them to explore the emerging
postdisciplinary era which promises to have a transformative effect on
the way in which we conceive of our world.
The seminar will take place at Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarhús, Wednesday April 11 at 20.
Entrance is free and everybody is welcome.
The seminar is a part of The Iceland Design Centre´s lecture series in
collaboration with The Iceland Academy of the Arts and The Reykjavík Art
Museum.
