Ljósmyndarinn MARY ELLEN MARK heldur fyrirlestur í Opna listaháskólanum
fimmtudaginn 3. september kl.15:00 í Skipholti 1, stofu 113. Auk þess verður forsýning á heimildarmyndinni Streetwise eftir Martin Bell.
Ljósmyndarinn Mary Ellen Mark sýnir myndir úr nýjustu bók sinni, "Seen Behind the Scene: forty years of photographing on set". Bókin hefur hlotið frábæra dóma vestra og seldist fyrsta prentun upp. Mark hefur á liðnum áratugum ljósmyndað mikið bakvið tjöldin í kvikmyndaheiminum. Einnig sýnir hún nokkrar myndir úr væntanlegri bók um Proms.
Eiginmaðurinn Mark, Martin Bell, sem hefur verið tilnefndur til Óskarsverðlauna fyrir heimildamyndina Streetwise, ætlar svo að sýna okkur þess 35 mínútna mynd, næstum fullkláraða, þannig að það verður forsýning og óskað er eftir viðbrögðum við sýningunni.

The photographer Mary Ellen Mark has a lecture at Opni Listaháskólinn, Thursday 3.september at 15:00, at Skipholt 1, room 113.
MARY ELLEN MARK has achieved worldwide visibility through her numerous books, exhibitions and editorial magazine work. Her recent book & exhibition project, Extraordinary Child, was commissioned by The National Museum of Iceland and features photographs of children at two specialized school for the disabled in Reykjavik. Martin Bell also made a film on the same subject which premiered at the exhibition.
She has published sixteen books including extraordinary Child (The National Museum of Iceland, 2007), Seen Behind the Scene (Phaidon, 2009.) Mark's photographs have been exhibited worldwide.
A photo essay on runaway children in Seattle became the basis of the academy award nominated film STREETWISE, directed and photographed by her husband, Martin Bell. The film will be premiered at the lecture.
The lecture is in english and everyone is welcome
